"The Clubs are developed to be the one place you can learn Libertarianism right..."--Nobelist Milton Friedman, Advisor
The Core Feature of our Clubs is the reading and activity program, along with sharing of wins and experiences, all developing local Libertarian-receptive communities or networks with LEAP methods for Libertarian wins in a non-partisan atmosphere.
Club members read on the third Saturday of the month at 7 PM local time for one hour to review activities, do welcome/intake and hear briefly from an invited speaker if any, discuss the readings via short book reviews and questions, and commit to concrete action on a non-partisan basis either solo or as a group and share wins from previous or ongoing projects. Each section is 15 minutes; many people typically stay thereafter to socialize the Clubs do not endorse candidates, they do publicize participant activities. OR the structure supports solo/family at-home review facilitated by the e-groups. Clubs should meet at low cost venues for juice or coffee and we recommend Starbucks or similar local establishments of modest cost, and facilitators and Club participants must of course maintain the most courteous relations with the owners.
Young persons should have permission of parent or guardian consistent with local statutes to attend meetings. Clubs may not be used as venues to promote personal, business, or romantic interests; no money may be collected by the Clubs per se though they may nati urally bring together people interested in a commonj project consistent with Club aims; they are safe havens for lively discussion followed by productive action. Clubs should take care to involve women and proportional minorities.
Readings are in 3 lists with at least one book for each month; Novemnber and December are reserved for reading of local statutes and reports on local boards to develop issues and get familiar with technical requirements such as election statutes or books on techniques; and local Laws and Constitutions, respectively. People should use the lists to select the book that most interests them so several people are reporting on what they have gotten of value from a variety of books.
Finally, in 2011, our blog will include Clubster Libertarian papers organized by theme for continuing development and enjoyment.
